AHEAD Association
was founded in 2013 as a result of the need to provide alternative education on social integration and involvement of children and young people belonging to disadvantaged groups.
The Association’s mission is the development of abilities and skills that help children and young people to integrate into society using social psychology, nonformal activities and volunteering.

Scope to promote and develop activities that lead to the development of human resources in Brasov county.

Objectives:

  • In the social:
    • to carry out activities aimed at social inclusion;
    • support and guidance in filling a job;
    • the possibility of forming a prior employment experience;
  • In the field of education:
    • to offer alternative knowledge and learning of children and young people using social psychology institutionalized and non-formal methods;
  • In the area of supporting youth:
    • promotion of youth activities;
    • to carry out vocational guidance and counseling activities for young people;

Activities and projects in the first year of existence were held locally and focused collaboration with public institutions and private companies. The organization worked with the contribution of specialists (social workers, psychologist, specialist in public relations, IT specialist, teachers, engineer) who have developed projects of mentoring activities and social inclusion using social psychology and nonformal learning methods.

More than 30 professional bachelor (EQF 6), and lifelong learning study programmes are offered in various fields such as health care, social work, teacher education, science & technology, business & commerce.
UCLL aims at maximising the interaction between research and education: students and teaching staff are involved in research practice and research output is introduced in study programmes, thus ensuring state-of-the-art training programmes for its 15.000 students.
Information and research competences are gradually developed in

Association “Thirst for Life” is a nonprofit organization established in 2005. The main activities of the association are related to education and direct work with different groups of people – those with risky sexual behavior, drug addiction, youth with disabilities, young people with delinquent behavior, young people from the Roma community and an outstanding young people from elite schools. Mission and main goal of the organization is to reduce the health, social and cultural damage among one of the most vulnerable risk groups in our society – young people with high risk behavior. Our task is to update the continuity between generations in the Roma community and at risk groups. This includes the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, harm reduction of drug use, development of health, social and cultural level of young people from the Roma society. We aim to build and operate a modern network of health, social and legal protection of young people with risky behavior by establishing a new approach for respecting their human rights and dignity.

ANTIGONE -Information and Documentation Center on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence” is a non-profit organisation with its central offices located in Thessaloniki and a branch in Athens. From its establishment in 1993, ANTIGONE is active in the fields of anti-racism and non-discrimination, human rights, ecology, peace and non-conflict resolution.
ANTIGONE develops activities aiming to assure equality of opportunities for everyone without any negative discrimination based on gender, race, national or social origin, disability, colour, religion, age, sexual orientation etc. On the bases of solidarity and direct activation ANTIGONE attempts to contribute towards the creation of the appropriate social conditions so that every person can take on active role in the various aspects of social, economic and cultural life. Furthermore, ANTIGONE targets to raising awareness and sensitisation of the wider society on non-discrimination issues, human rights, social ecology, non violence and interculturality.
ANTIGONE participates as coordinator or as partner in both national and international projects. The organisation carries out sensitisation activities, events on non-discrimination, non-formal educational workshops on the integration of differentiality conducted via the methodology of non-formal education as well as seminars and vocational training workshops in various thematic sections. From January 2002, ANTIGONE organises the Annual Round Table Against Discrimination, Racism and Xenophobia. Furthermore, the organisation has a constant presence in the antiracist festivals and other events in Athens and Thessaloniki while it also participates in various networks that are set on local, national or international level.
In the research field on racism and migration ANTIGONE has carried out analytical studies on issues related to employment, education, housing of migrants, legislation, racist violence, minority and other vulnerable groups issues. Furthermore, ANTIGONE has submitted case studies related to good and bad practices on combating racism, xenophobia and anti-semitism.

The Non for Profit Educational Association eduACT – “Action for Education”, eliminates the limits of the formal education of today and introduces new educational programs for all the children of tomorrow.

UET Centre is a civil society organization established in 2009 as an initiative of a group of researchers and lecturers at the European University of Tirana (UET).
UET Centre intends to contribute towards the progress and democratization of the Albanian society through policy-oriented research projects, capacity building and joint programmes in these main areas: Good
Governance and EU Integration; Economy and Sustainable Development; Human Rights and Social Inclusion; Information Technology, Social Innovation and
Entrepreneurship.

OBJECTIVES

  • To continue to play a crucial role in the Albanian polity by enhancing the link between research and development;
  • To develop and sustain policy-oriented research and other related activities that can provide policy analysis; expertise and qualified advice to the government, interested groups and other stakeholders;
  • To expand its activity into acting as a facilitator in the communication processes between the government, policy-makers and other public stakeholders on the one hand and the citizens, interested groups, private stakeholders and communities at large on the other hand, in order to promote pro-active dialogue and contribute to national capacity-building;
  • To initiate and sustain debate in the public sphere related to existing and emerging public policy issues in order to inform and influence policy-thinking and policy-making processes and to generate better policy ideas and alternatives;
  • To inform and assist community groups and empower citizens and marginalized groups to take an active role in policy development.

The UET Centre Programme Portfolio falls within these priority clusters:

  1. Good Governance and European Union Integration

    This programme priority includes research and capacity-building projects in economic, social and educational policy in the framework of good governance and EU accession processes. Some key areas are: employment and labour market; social benefits and welfare policy; migration and social mobility; land and property laws; economic growth; income, taxes and redistribution of resources; integration processes and accession, costs and benefits. Founded and located within the academia, the UET Centre has a particular interest in educational policy in Albania. More so as it seeks to link high quality education and research to capacity building based on the principle that the democratization requires a well-educated citizenry. Some key areas include: education legislation/strategy; the Bologna Process and the higher education in Albania; pre-university and higher education reforms; educational policy and practice linkage; the impact of information and communication technologies on education; education access and inclusion for marginalized groups; European Union, education and research.

  2. Economy and Sustainable Development

    In lieu of the challenges that the contemporary society encounters, sustainable social and economic development and environmental protection constitute emerging public policy areas in Albania. Key areas include: smart growth, agriculture, land and water management in Albania; energy policy; environment quality; industrial pollution; national and international legislation and policy framework on environmental issues; environmental policy and economics in Albania and the role of the government.

  3. Human Rights and Social Inclusion

    The UET Centre is founded on the principles of respect for human rights and freedoms, equal opportunities and encouragement of diversity and plurality in society and polity. If Albania is to achieve its development and democratic goals, Human Rights should be central to the public policy processes and society at large. Henceforth, the UET Centre is committed to policy analysis, research and advocacy in the area of human rights, social inclusion and citizens’ participation in the public sphere and decision-making in Albania. The specific areas in this cluster include: national and international legislation on human rights; the rights of the Child; marginalised children and youth; various forms of discrimination, social exclusion and social justice; gender issues; international organizations and human rights.

  4. Information Technology, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship

    As Albania is moving towards the knowledge-based society and economy, ICTs and innovation are instruments of turning economic, social, cultural and political challenges in Albania into opportunities with social missions that could convey positive transformations for individuals and the society at large. As these constitute emerging areas of research, policy and practice, the UET Centre intends to bring together academics, policymakers and practitioners to design and develop research projects, education and development initiatives and related activities in order to promote and foster social innovation and entrepreneurship in Albania. This cluster includes activities in the following areas: ICTs in the public, private and educational sectors; innovation, research and education; research and development; social enterprise and business; public-private partnerships; academia, governance and entrepreneurship.

Rinascita Sociale Salam House is an independent non-profit organisation located in Naples, which mainly operates in the area of Naples. Rinascita Sociale Salam House was created in 1993 by a group of youngsters who, having been involved for years in the voluntary service, face day by day social and cultural problems of the new generations, in order to be protagonists of the future all together. We work at the local level, with the purpose to raise the passions and wishes of young people, promoting solidarity, associationism, communion between people, European awareness, and to create the right conditions to face and solve the major problems of the modern society. Rinascita Sociale Salam House, therefore, works to suggest new projects to the city, and decisive initiatives on culture, education, human rights, environment, the artistic and historical relaunch, entertainment, youth employment, justice, social alienation, etc. Rinascita Sociale Salam House is also involved into the promotion of studies and researches, and it collects documents and training material on human rights education, development and co-operation between peoples. Our main purpose is to provide scope for people’s intelligence and creativity, increasing places where social relations and cultural awareness are possible. Rinascita Sociale Salam House wants to be an active part in the society and in the consolidation of the voluntary service, in fact it has involved nearly 600 youngsters and many of them, who once were simple users, have become active participants in the life of our local community. Everyday activities are: afterschool support, family support, human rights education programmes, info centre for immigrants, helping centre for elderly people, seminars for young people, excursions, trips, theatre activities and cultural events, international and European projects (Erasmus +, etc.). Jovesolides was created in 1999 in the priority area of La Coma, in Paterna, but its origins go back to 1995. That year, ‘La Coma’ Colegio Mayor was established. At that time, the educational body’s young students were providing support to the neighbourhood’s residents and associations, and they organised and formed the association. Objective: to provide continuity for the various solidarity initiatives that have been developed. The essence of such a unique context, full of intercultural richness and social commitment, and led by youth, has guided each step taken by the organization.

We work development cooperation: we encourage the youth commitment in Latin America and Morocco, and we create entrepreneurial initiatives in the local environment. We strengthen their leadership to build a critic and transnational citizenship.

We work E- Inclusion: we promote digital literacy through ITC training. We specialize in two social sectors: seniors and unemployed people.

We work education for development: we work to create awareness within society about social problems. We do this through formal and no-formal education, political engagement and advocacy.

The Institute of Psychosocial Development (I.Ψ.A.) is an NGO founded in the City of Larisa (Region of Thessaly) since 2001 by a group of experienced scientists and research associates active in various development fields with disadvantaged segments of society.

Basic objective of the Institute is the promotion of psychosocial development of the individuals, through a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, counseling and support services for adults, families, children and adolescents on an individual or/and group basis. I.Ψ.A. provides a number of integrated services specially designed to serve the needs and meet the criteria of all the target groups and the organizations (SMEs, institutions, etc.) that constitute the modern social environment.

Moreover, I.Ψ.Α.’s overall operation and philosophy is expanded to the provision of all the related services in order to support efficiently all the disadvantaged groups and underprivileged populations that are facing enhanced difficulties to participate, contribute or even benefit from their social environments. Specifically, a series of integrated services are provided through a range of specific programs satisfying the enhanced need of all the target groups.
