The goal of children drawing competition, launched on January 2017, is to help children, teachers and parents think about how the society is expressing and accepting the Roma community. Children are encouraged to create the drawings and share their experiences. In the competition can participate children, till 5-years old age and from any European country. The topic of the drawings is “What do you imagine under word Roma?” and the children can use the help of their parents and teachers. All drawings will be accepted and be presented in the international Exchnage of experience event “It is not too late”, that will be organized in Prague, Czech Republic at 17 and 18 of January 2017. The drawings will be part of 2-weeks exhibition that will take place in Prague. The winner and its prize will be announced by the organization RomPraha at the beginning of February 2017.
This contest is part of the project “Fighting discrimination and anti-Gypsysim in education and employment in EU” (PAL) co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme of the European Union.
The selection procedure:
- The drawings need to be submitted by the deadline of 17 January 2017 and sent to the e-mail addresses : goralad@seznam.cz and palproject2016@gmail.com
- A designated jury (PAL Partnership) will select 3 winners
- The winning drawings will be published in February 2017 at the social media tools of PAL project
* Criteria for the selection: Relevance to the theme; creativity (interpretation of the theme); diversity and composition of the group (composed if non-Roma children); visual impact; and the results of the public vote were also taken into account.
