07/09/2016. “Education is the best weapon against exclusion” – says Stefan Ludwig, director of a new documentary titled Angry Buddha. The movie presents the story of Sajókaza, a small village in the Eastern part of Hungary where a few years ago two outsiders (a Roma school teacher and an ex-sociologist and -politician) made an attempt to soften the tensions between the growing poor Roma and the aging non-Roma population via establishing a Buddhist school in the community. The documentary gives an insight into the educator’s fight against the rising far-right party, the everyday struggles of pupils as well as the resigned state of the local Roma community.
